Grown on our farm without the use of pesticides using regenerative farming principles, the Atherton raspberry Rubus probus, is a native bush food found in the upland rainforests of the beautiful Atherton Tablelands in far North Queensland. They grow very happily next to their European cousins on our Yungaburra raspberry farm. They do not taste like regular raspberries and aren't as sweet but they have a subtle taste similar to a white mulberry. They really are delightful little red clouds! They are a truly unique addition to your bush food pantry. As far as we can tell, we are the only growers who freeze-dry native Atherton raspberries in the whole world! That means no matter where you are, you too can enjoy the delicious and pretty little native berry of far North Queensland.
Note that the Atherton Raspberry has an extremely high water content. This means that when they are freeze dried that they are extremely light, so you get a lot of berries for a small weight. They are also very fragile. Whilst every effort is made to supply whole berries, some breakage is to be expected.
